Our Ride Base
Since this initial grant many more grants have been achieved a joint exercise between Big Country Endurance Riders Inc and Beaudesert Trail Riders Club through a Powerllink grant program was successful in erecting a shelter with 2 picnic tables, a horse wash bay and 8 horse yards.
Logan City Council have continued improving the grounds by erecting a bbq, playground area, horse water trough with pump and float valve, pier into the lagoon and shelter for bird watchers etc to enjoy the lagoon and the varied birdlife that nest within the reeds growing there.
Big Country Endurance Riders Inc. have also managed to succeed in obtaining further grants - one after major flooding damaged some tracks through the flood funding for approx. $13,000 which assisted coundil in rectifying these and then in 2016 for $100,000 through the Qld State Governments "Get in the Game" Grant - this along with an additional $10,000 that Big Country Endurance Riders Inc added to the funds has been used on constructing some new tracks, upgrading existing tracks and permanently marking tracks. With an information sign etc being placed at the park and near the water tower for all to utilise. We are very excited at achieving this fantastic grant, which will be beneficial to many recreational activities and the local community! This project has now been completed.
